Welcome to the official site for the Sheffield & Hallamshire Girls County League, formally known as the Sheffield & Hallamshire Girls Development League. We are a competitive girls and young ladies Football League playing in England. We operate in an area covered by the ‘Sheffield & Hallamshire County F.A’. The purpose of this site is to keep our players, their Clubs and supporters informed about the League and its activities. The site contains general information about the League and is constantly updated with information that should be useful to Clubs and managers as well as players, their families and supporters. The Sheffield & Hallamshire Girls Development League was formed at the beginning of the 2003/04 season. Following the huge increase in the popularity of girls football, the Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA, under the guidance of Julie Callaghan decided to create a local girls football league. In its second season, the league was made up of two under 10 divisions, four under 12 divisions, three under 14 divisions, and one under 16 division. The league was aimed at girls who had little or no previous experience of competitive football, hence the word development in the original title. We are now a well established League and as a result of this we have changed our name to the Sheffield & Hallamshire Girls County League. |
